SIGNATURE ENGAGEMENT EVENTS SPOTLIGHT
Throughout the year, we offer numerous opportunities to support our mission of empowering under-resourced students to succeed in their chosen careers and become lifelong change agents in their communities. Our success depends on those who partner with us by volunteering their time and expertise or providing financial support. Equally important are those who join us as volunteers or financial sponsors for our six annual engagement events.
Annual Vision Breakfast
A morning of inspiration and impact, we share stories of the victories won and challenges faced over the past year and cast vision for the year ahead – our desired goals and anticipated needs – with all from our community who partner with us, contributing with their time, talent, and treasure to our success.
Alumni Care Packages
As an expression of our ongoing care and support for our alumni in the fall, our partners, staff, and students put together care packages full of basic necessities plus favorite treats with notes of encouragement that remind them we value them as they pursue their chosen career pathway.
Elevate Hoops 3v3
Teams of three, both male and female students, from around the city go head to head in this one-day double-elimination basketball tournament offering a prime opportunity for mentoring and connecting with current students while exposing new students to our program and its benefits.
Suits & Sneakers
Each spring, we gather the families of graduating seniors along with the Elevate family – staff, Board, and partners – to recognize the hard work and celebrate the achievements of our soon-to-be alumni with a banquet and Thriving Youth Scholarship awards ceremony.
Juneteenth Fellowship on the Fairways
Our Juneteenth-themed golf scramble Douglass Park Golf Course brings together Board members and both corporate and community partners with our students, giving them the opportunity to practice interpersonal skills and to hone networking skills.
Back to School Kickoff
We jumpstart our out-of-school program’s Pathways to Purpose College & Career focus every August with an event full of sports and adventure fun for students, teacher-mentors, and community partners onsite at one of our partner high schools.
