THE PATH BEGINS NOW: ELEVATE’S PATHWAYS TO PURPOSE

Around here, we like to say, “Once in Elevate, always in Elevate.” Part of how we help our students achieve post-secondary success is by giving them the tools to start now.

Through our Pathways To Purpose program, we empower our students to start planning for their future beyond the Elevate classroom – with the knowledge that we’re there with them every step of the way.

Pathways To Purpose is designed to help students create upward economic mobility through obtaining post-secondary placement filled with purpose and security for years to come.

Whether the next step is education, the workforce, trade school, or the military, students who secure postsecondary placement are statistically much better equipped to create a meaningful, successful life after high school. With meaningful, long-term support, we help our students achieve upward economic mobility as we anchor our Pathways To Purpose mentoring in best practices of youth workforce development.

PATHWAYS IN THE CLASSROOM: ELEVATE BEYOND

Elevate students experience Pathways To Purpose during Elevate Beyond, our highly engaging, upper-level course. The primary goal of this course is to help students prepare for life after graduation, creating paths to pursue their passions through the use of the 7 character qualities and 6 life skills they’ve explored throughout their Elevate careers.

By connecting our students with meaningful educational or vocational opportunities now, we help them begin confidently on their purposeful path for the future. Students work with Teacher-Mentors to prepare and carry out their post-high school plan, which can include:

• – Discovering and researching college programs
• – ACT/SAT testing
• – Financial aid
• – Interview & presentation skills,
• – Resume writing
• – Personal financial literacy

After three years of discovering their passions and skills, it’s time to put them into practice. Thanks to Pathways To Purpose and Elevate Beyond, our students leave Elevate with an actionable plan and the confidence to succeed.

We aim for 90% of seniors to complete a 2-year post-secondary actionable plan annually. Here’s how we work toward that goal:

The Pathways To Purpose model is organized into the 4 E’s, which help us to connect our students with meaningful post-secondary opportunities:

• – Exposure to potential college and career paths through vision trips and community partner engagement
• – Equipping students with soft skills, leadership skills, and future planning
• – Empowering students through mentorship and skills assessments
• – Engaging students with their dream career paths via internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeships

SHOW A NEW PATHWAY TO PURPOSE – HOST A VISION TRIP

Want to help build up the leaders of tomorrow? Show them what a leader looks like by hosting a vision trip!

Vision trips are an excellent opportunity to show our students what it looks like to be a community and business leader, and to expose them to opportunities they’ve never had access to before. As a vision trip host, you can offer real-world exposure to the local business community. In doing so, you may just spark something in one of our students and start them on their Pathway to Purpose.
